De-Mail
De-Mail is a means of communication for the binding and confidential exchange of electronic documents via the Internet. The FP subsidiary FP Digital Business Solutions GmbH is the first accredited De-Mail provider and a member of a De-Mail project launched by the German government.
Digitization
With the services of the FP subsidiary FP Digital Business Solutions GmbH mail processing can be digitized at certain points: For example, incoming mail can be scanned and archived electronically. Outgoing mail can first be sent electronically via your own PC and then delivered in the form of a traditional letter.
DV franking
Also known as "franking in the window" franking method, especially for bulk mailers. Franking is carried out using our in-house IT system, whereby all parameters are determined in the system and the franking is printed out with the letter data in a single operation.

FP BusinessMail is a hybrid mail solution from FP. With this online letter service, larger companies can outsource the processing of their daily business mail. The company sends the mail digitally, while FP takes care of printing, enveloping and franking the letters.

GoGreen
GoGreen is a climate protection program for responsible logistics. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions by sending shipments in a CO2-neutral way. With GoGreen products, customers can make an active contribution to climate protection for a small surcharge.

Hybrid mail refers to solutions in which mail items are first transported digitally and then printed, simultaneously franked, enveloped and delivered to a mail distribution center as a finished letter.

ISO 14001
The international environmental management standard ISO 14001 defines globally recognized requirements for an environmental management system. It can be applied to both manufacturing and service-providing companies.

Consolidation
Term for sorting letters by zip code and posting them in a correspondingly sorted form at a mail center. The aim is to obtain postage discounts for these advance services.

Country variant
Franking machines are approved for a particular country by the postal organizations in a complex approval process. In order to receive approval, the franking machines must meet the specifications set by the postal organizations. This results in a separate country variant for each country in which a franking machine is approved.
Liberalization
Post-liberalization is a political process initiated at EU level that has been gradually implemented in European countries since the early 1990s. Germany is a pioneer in Europe. Full liberalization of the postal market in Europe was completed on 1 January 2011.

MailOne
MailOne is a software platform from FP in the USA. Among other things, it offers additional functions such as special discounts for express and priority deliveries, shipment tracking and billing to various cost centers.
MailReport
The MailReport software is used for cost center recording and analysis and ensures the greatest possible transparency around the franking machine. Every franking is immediately recorded in MailReport and assigned to a cost center. Up to three cost center levels can be set up.
MyMail-i
MyMail-i is the FP Group's franking machine for smaller mail volumes. With this entry-level solution, customers can store up to three advertising motifs and manage three cost centers. An optional scale also automatically finds the correct postage. Sales have been discontinued.

Online letter
Online letter - sometimes also referred to as electronic letter or digital letter - is a generic term for sending letters electronically. There is a hybrid and a fully electronic version of the online letter.
OptiMail 30
OptiMail 30 is a franking machine from the FP Group that is suitable for small and medium-sized mail volumes. The machine with economical thermal transfer printing stores up to six advertising motifs and offers a large display with very simple operation. Sales have been discontinued.

PostBase
The PostBase is the latest innovative franking system from Francotyp-Postalia. Intuitive to operate via touchscreen, the PostBase is characterized, for example, by its particularly quiet operating noise and its modular design. The latter enables it to be tailored precisely to individual customer requirements.
Postage credit
Also known as restricted cash. In some countries, franking machine users are required to pay postage credit in advance. These cash amounts are managed by the FP Group and represent liabilities to customers. These credit balances are to be distinguished from teleporto.

Signature
A signature stands for a signature. An electronic signature, also known as an "e-signature", can replace a handwritten signature. FP Sign is a legally compliant service for signing digital documents.

Teleporto
Also known as remote value presetting, this procedure enables postage values to be loaded into franking machines by telephone or modem. The modern service, called FP-Basic, communicates via Internet services.

The Universal Postal Union (UPU) was founded in 1874 and still regulates international cooperation between postal authorities and the framework conditions for cross-border postal traffic. The organization is headquartered in Bern, Switzerland.

UltiMail is a franking machine from FP that has been discontinued. It has a modular design and offers up to nine storable advertising motifs, variable text messages in the franking impression, optional differential weighing and up to 150 cost centers.

VDSL
VDSL refers to high-speed data transmission at up to 210 megabits per second.

2D barcode technology
In contrast to one-dimensional barcodes, data in 2D barcode technology is not only coded in one direction (one-dimensional), but in the form of a surface across two dimensions, from which the name is derived. The advantage is a higher density of useful information that can be accommodated per surface (see also Annual report 2009, S. 7)
