Document and envelope sizes, number of sheets, fold type: all important inserting settings are stored in the inserting system as so-called jobs - i.e. as processing tasks.
Depending on the selected job, the inserting system pulls sheets from the feed stations one after the other. The sheets are transported vertically to a collection tray. In the event of interruptions or errors in the paper flow, incomplete sets are deposited in the output tray. The correct sets are transferred to the folding unit and folded. The folded set is transported to the inserting base and pushed into the prepared envelope at the inserting position. The filled envelope passes through the moistening and closing unit. The finished envelope leaves the inserting base and is deposited in the letter tray.
Envelope documents with different numbers of pages
Sophisticated inserting systems can work with so-called optical feature recognition (OME or OMR) and thus compile and process individual sets. To do this, the inserting system must be equipped with a reading head and corresponding OME software. The OME software is available in different expansion stages (levels). Additional settings are stored for OME operation, for example which feeder station is read from. The code, which is printed on the documents in the form of barcodes, contains specific processing information for each set, such as whether documents are to be collected and enveloped in a certain way.
The documents with the barcodes are inserted into the reading feed station. Depending on the OME software used and the printed code, inserts can be selectively fed from other feed stations. First, the documents with the barcodes of a set are stacked in the collection tray. The inserts are added after the last document in the set with a barcode.
Operation with clearly arranged controls
Our inserting systems can be controlled with the help of clear displays and operating elements. You can start the processing procedure simply by pressing the start button. The inserting system then starts with the set job. The STOP button stops the processing process. Processes currently in progress remain in the system. Press the CLEAR button to interrupt the paper feed at the feeder. All sets in the throughput are still being completed. The inserting system then stops. Press the ESC button to exit a menu without saving any changes.
Easy handling
In the operating menu, you can select the job and the desired fold type for your documents. Here are some examples of typical fold types:

You place the filling material in one or more stations and the fanned envelopes in the empty envelope chute. Before you start a job, you must insert a test set. If there is still material in the paper transport from the previous cycle, the inserter outputs the paper into the collection tray. The test set is processed completely and the finished envelope is ejected. Once the inserting system has been set up for the job and the test set has been processed correctly, you can start the job and insert your documents.
