How long is my contract going?

The duration of the contract depends on your individual agreement and is recorded in your contract documents.

Does my contract extend automatically?

Unless notice is given in due time, the contract shall be renewed once a year in accordance with the contractual provisions.

Is there a minimum contract term? Where can I see it?

Yes, the minimum term of the contract is specified in your contract. You can view the term of the contract in your confirmation. Your billing period on your invoice also corresponds to your term of the contract (does not apply to rent and leasing).

Termination

What terms and conditions of termination apply to my contract?

The termination must be received according to our Terms and Conditions at least three months before the end of the contract.

How can I terminate my contract?

How do I cancel my franking machine / how do I unsubscribe from a franking machine?

Is there a special termination right?

Do I receive a notice of termination?

What do I have to pay attention to when canceling?

The contract with Francotyp-Postalia must be terminated in writing. You are welcome to cancel your contract by e-mail to: fp.contract@francotyp.com A termination by e-mail is sufficient, an additional dispatch of the termination by post is not required. Why do I have to deregister the franking machine with Deutsche Post?

An agreement was reached with Deutsche Post AG on the acquisition of the franking machine, which states, among other things, that the franking machine must also be registered with Deutsche Post AG when it is discontinued. As part of the cancellation, the counter stands are read out and any remaining balances are refunded by Deutsche Post AG.



End of contract & Return

Do I have to return my FP machine after the end of the contract?

In case of a lease or leasing agreement, you must return the machine to FP. Use our FormIf you buy the machine, you do not have to return it.

Do you buy the product after termination of the contract?

No, we're not offering that.

Master Data & Rename

How do I report a change of name?

Please inform us in writing of the change of name and submit corresponding documents (e.g. commercial register extract). The change of name must also be notified to DPAG.

Is my contract still valid for a change of name?

As a rule, the contract remains valid and will be adapted to the new confirmation.

Invoices

Where can I find my bills?

You will find your invoices in the MyFP Portal.

Can I request older invoices?

Yes, older invoices can be Customer service This is not the case in the United Kingdom.

What are the accounting positions?

The agreed services are agreed in the contract. Unless otherwise stated, the calculated period is usually twelve months.

Can I get credit back?

What is FP Basic?

FP-Basic is required for the operation of the PostBase franking system and includes charging the franking system with postage credits, free calls to the FP hotline and automatic loading of software updates for the franking system or the FP navigator software.

Why do I have to pay FP-Basic?

For the use of the franking machine the FP-Basic contract is mandatory. The fee is charged for the use of the infrastructure provided by FP. Besides the secure postage shop, the infrastructure also allows the provision of code numbers for postage services, the updating of security keys and credit information as well as the transfer of consumption data to the Deutsche Post AG.
